Welcome
My name is Jost Leonhardt Fischer, and I am a painter, photographer and scientist. Atelier Goldberg is my artistic haven, the sanctuary where my creativity takes flight. Currently, Atelier Goldberg graces both Hamburg and Berlin, Germany.
A few words about me
As a child, I dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. I loved to draw, be in nature, and express my creativity.
Growing up in East Germany, I had to become a mechanic and a welder instead of a scientist.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, I got my high school diploma at an evening high school, quit my job as a worker, and studied physics, math, chemistry and oceanography.
I earned my PhD in Theoretical Physics and worked as a researcher on various scientific projects for more than 15 years. For the past 10 years, I have researched and taught at the University of Hamburg in Germany. Since 2023, I have held a PD habilitation in Systematic Musicology.
My scientific work continually inspires my artistic endeavors. Art, for me, is also deeply connected to music and movement. I completed 3 years ballet training in 2002 and have been dancing tango argentine for 25 years.
