Shadow theatre is a traditional form of storytelling that uses flat, articulated figures held between a light source and a translucent screen to create the illusion of moving images. Originating in ancient cultures such as China and Indonesia, this art form combines intricate puppetry and lighting to bring narratives to life through the shadows cast on the screen. Performers manipulate the puppets to produce dynamic scenes, often accompanied by music, dialogue, and sound effects. Today, shadow theatre continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its enchanting blend of visual artistry and storytelling. Check out some snapshots of my short shadows here.
